A Proper Pub in the Chilterns

The pub at The Peacock Country Inn is a relaxed place to drop in for a drink, meet friends, or spend time winding down after a day out. Set in the Chiltern Hills near Chinnor, it keeps the feel of a traditional country pub while remaining welcoming to both locals and visitors passing through the area.

It is a space designed for everyday use rather than special occasions, where guests can arrive without plans and stay as long as they like.

What to Expect in the Pub

The pub offers a comfortable, informal atmosphere with seating arranged for conversation and ease. It suits quiet drinks, casual meet-ups, and moments spent watching the world go by. The pace is unhurried, and the focus is on creating a place people return to rather than pass through once.

Whether you are stopping in briefly or settling in for the evening, the pub provides a straightforward and familiar experience.

Drinks, Food, and the Rhythm of the Day

A selection of beers, wines, and spirits is available throughout the day, alongside food served from the kitchen during service hours. The pub works naturally alongside the restaurant, offering a more relaxed option for those who prefer to eat casually or enjoy a drink before or after a meal.

Menus and availability vary by day and season, reflecting how the inn is used by both guests and locals.

A Place to Drop in and Stay Awhile

The pub draws a mix of local regulars and guests passing through the area, offering a comfortable place to enjoy a drink or a relaxed bite to eat. It works just as well for a quiet pint as it does for meeting friends, with an atmosphere that feels settled rather than busy.

Dogs are welcome in the pub area, making it an easy stop for those spending time outdoors or moving between nearby villages.
